This high-level workshop will ask attendees to examine the news they produce with understanding and empathy in order to better meet audiences who often feel left out of or misrepresented by mainstream reporting in a politically polarized time. Covering story and source selection and framing, language choice, and geographic and ideological social sorting, participants will leave with tools to foster trust and produce more relevant, accurate coverage.
