Director of Community Development
Media Transformation Challenge
Benjamin Wagner is a creative, consultant, and Director of Community Engagement for the Media Transformation Challenge (MTC).
At MTC, Benjamin leads community engagement across Fellows, Alumni, and partners—cultivating connection, collaboration, and shared learning to accelerate leadership growth and deepen the program’s long-term impact across the media ecosystem.
As a consultant, he helps individuals and organizations move from complexity to clarity—identifying strategic opportunities, creating the conditions for meaningful change, and translating insight into focused, measurable action. His work centers on sequencing, sense-making, and unlocking individual and collective potential.
Drawing on more than two decades at the intersection of journalism, culture, and technology—including helping launch Facebook’s Journalism Project globally, transforming MTV News, and producing the award-winning PBS documentary Mister Rogers & Me (with Friends & Neighbors forthcoming)—his work is grounded in a simple throughline: how humans make meaning, build trust, and care for one another in times of change.
