Kimberly Griffin is a nationally recognized revenue operations and leadership strategist with more than two decades of experience driving sustainable growth across nonprofit media, fundraising, marketing, and sales organizations. Known for her ability to build predictable revenue engines and develop high-performing teams, she specializes in fundraising coaching, board training, strategic planning, and executive coaching for mission-driven organizations seeking to scale their impact.
As Publisher and Co‑Founder of the Mississippi Free Press and the Mississippi Journalism and Education Group, Kimberly led the teams that built the organization’s revenue operations from the ground up. She guided the development of a unified fundraising launched and expanded a strong VIP membership program, and steadily grew a wide community of supporters. Her leadership brought together teams across the organization to run effective fundraising efforts, build lasting donor relationships, and support the newsroom’s rapid growth through clear processes, thoughtful audience insights, and practical, data‑informed decision‑making.
Kimberly’s leadership extends beyond revenue generation. She is a trusted executive coach who has mentored cross-functional teams, emerging leaders, and senior executives to exceed ambitious performance targets. Her board training work equips nonprofit boards with the governance, fundraising, and strategic alignment tools needed to operate with clarity and confidence. She is also a sought‑after strategic planning facilitator, known for helping organizations translate mission into measurable, sustainable operational plans.
Her industry recognition includes being named a Local Independent Online News (LION) Revenue Growth Fellow and the Institute for Nonprofit News’ 2022 Emerging Nonprofit News Leader of the Year. She serves on the Lenfest Statewide News Collective Advisory Board and the Association of Alternative Newsmedia board, and she was a top ten finalist for the 2023 Mississippi Business Journal Business Woman of the Year.
Kimberly’s earlier career includes serving as Associate Publisher of the Jackson Free Press, where she coached sales teams, strengthened revenue forecasting, and implemented CRM systems that improved pipeline visibility and organizational efficiency. Her experience spans major‑donor cultivation, grantmaking strategy, partnership development, and capacity‑building for BIPOC-led and community-centered media organizations.
A lifelong learner and civic leader, Kimberly is a graduate of Leadership Mississippi, a lifetime member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., and an active member of the Junior League of Jackson. She holds a Master of Science in Public Relations from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a Public Relations emphasis from Mississippi University for Women.
