Through its grantmaking, the foundation collaborates with funding partners to distribute more than $11 million annually to organizations and leaders working in geographic priority areas, with a focus on the city’s South and West Sides. Our grants and awards are made more substantial through key strategic partnerships.
At the Field Foundation, we believe every community deserves access to accurate, fair, and trustworthy local news. We work to strengthen local journalism and storytelling so that all community stories are told — and heard. We focus specifically on news outlets that center underrepresented communities — newsrooms whose coverage enables residents to see themselves, access reliable information, and advocate for meaningful change.
