Qing Saville co-leads education design, network engagement, and narrative strategies for winning public policies to transform civic media and local news at Free Press. They bring 15 years experience weaving organizing, docu-hybrid arts, and cultural strategies for civic health and social change. Qing executive produced and co-wrote Free Press’ Telly Award-winning Reparative Journalism Video Series in collaboration with two colleagues. Previously, they co-designed the DEI Coalition For Anti-Racist, Equitable, and Just Newsrooms with OpenNews and a core stewardship group; managed Gather, a network of community-centered journalists; and managed a national documentary public engagement campaign at California Newsreel. Qing is a proud biracial bicultural bilingual queer Taiwanese Southern Illinoisan currently living in the East Bay Area, CA. They are a commitment to opening space for our embodied imaginations to soften, expand and flourish.
