Hillary Flores is a bilingual journalist based in Chicago, currently serving as bilingual deputy editor at Borderless Magazine.
At Borderless Magazine, Flores helps lead editorial strategy and newsroom operations—working closely with reporters and editors to shape impactful, community-centered journalism. Her work focuses on audience engagement, multilingual storytelling and innovative approaches to reporting.
Flores has worked across local and national newsrooms, including ABC World News Tonight, Block Club Chicago, the Daily Beast, Cicero Independiente, and South Side Weekly. Most recently, she worked in news production and digital streaming for Univision Chicago and CBS Chicago, strengthening her expertise in cross-platform storytelling.
She holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University, where she specialized in Media Innovation and Content Strategy. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Media from DePaul University, where, as a student, she co-founded La DePaulia, an online Spanish-language news site amplifying the voices of underserved communities.
