Hannah Riley Fernandez is a writer, communications expert, and organizer based in Burlington, Vermont. She is the Director of Programming at the Center for Just Journalism, supporting journalists and newsrooms who do reporting on public safety issues. She has over a decade of experience at the nexus of media and the criminal legal system, working in communications for various nonprofit law offices, including most recently as the Communications Director for the Southern Center for Human Rights and before that at the Innocence Project. She is also a freelance writer.
