Elaine Díaz Rodríguez is a journalist and media strategist with deep experience leading independent newsrooms. She currently serves as Membership Director at Tiny News Collective, where she helps early-stage newsroom founders build sustainable, resilient local news organizations. Before moving into the journalism support ecosystem in the United States, Elaine built and led independent journalism ventures focused on accountability and community reporting. She was the founder and editor-in-chief of Periodismo de Barrio, a Cuban investigative site covering environmental and social issues with a hyperlocal lens, and she has contributed journalism to major outlets including Univision, The New York Times, The Guardian, and other international media.
