The Trace
Ava Sasani is the assistant editor of The Trace’s Gun Violence Data Hub. In her role, she develops story pitches, data analysis, and graphics for local newsrooms covering gun violence in their communities. She also helped create and maintain The Trace’s Federal Immigration Agent Shooting Tracker, a database cited by The Intercept, Mother Jones and at least 50 other news outlets.
Before joining The Trace, Ava covered reproductive rights as a reporting fellow at The New York Times. Her writing has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, The Guardian and Vox.
